Metal Forming Simulation

Despite the increasing use of composite materials and plastics, metals still make up an incredible amount of the products and constructions we see today. This is a die face design and sheet metal forming computer simulation package that allows engineers to design, test and then optimize every aspect of the metal forming process on their PC, rather than carrying out costly physical testing loops. The application covers the full range of processes, including cold, warm and hot sheet and tube metal forming, with tailored and patched blanks. A complete metal forming simulation solution

ESI’s PAM-STAMP metal forming simulation package covers the full range of metal forming activities. During the quoting stage, engineers can use the system to decide on blank outlines and the best nesting for estimation of materials costs. They can then move on quickly to developing the draw dies. Then, at the feasibility stage, the die engineers are able to accurately model the tool surfaces according to B-Spline geometry. Later, they can develop an ideal forming process to get rid of any wrinkles and cracks in their design.
